Today we celebrate school social workers, and we know GMS has the best! Thank you, Ms. Ferris, for all you do each day for so many of our students and for Circle of Friends!

Congratulations to our 8th boys 3rd place finish!

On Wednesday the GMS 7th and 8th grade band members traveled to Salina to perform at the WSL contest at Kansas Wesleyan University. We are proud to report that the 8th grade band got a 1 (outstanding) rating, and the 7th grade band received a 2 (excellent) rating. Several students also performed solos or with an ensemble, many receiving 1 and 2 ratings. Band director Mr. Richey said, "These students have gone above and beyond to prepare music outside of class to perform by themselves. Not only did all of the students perform well, they also displayed extraordinary professionalism and were excellent representatives of GMS." Great job, students!

Shout out to our cheerleaders who have finished up their seasons beginning all the way back in August! Thank you girls for an amazing time!

Congrats to our Lady Lion Wrestling team on their league tournament in Salina! And a special shoutout to our top placers and League Champion Cami Koller!

While students in Mrs. Shirley's 7th grade social studies classes were wrapping up their Asia geography unit, they got to have some hands-on experiences with miniature Terra Cotta warriors, traditional hats, and even a good-luck dragon!

It's a math scavenger hunt! Students in Mrs. Moore's classes had to work problems then find the answers around the library in order to move on to the next problem. Movement and math together!

Check out what the Skilled Trades classes did today! They had to design and build a min-golf course, and then they went golfing! Awesome job, students!

Saturday was a great day for GMS robotics! They had a meet in Wichita, and the Goddard Alpha team won the Excellence Award (one team member not pictured) ! Winning this award secured a spot for Goddard Alpha in the state tournament on Friday, March 6th. The other team who qualified for state based on their driving skills scores was Mission ImBOTssible. Awesome job, teams!

The book fair is open this week and next week! Student names will go into a drawing for a gift card if a parent browses the fair during conferences!

Our career and life students at GMS had an amazing opportunity to venture over to WSU Tech's south campus for their middle school days where they got a chance to tour their state-of-the-art facility. Students learned about education opportunities for various careers, toured the campus, and participated in some hands-on modules to give them a feel for various careers. Prepping our students at GMS to be future ready!

Lady Wrestling at Andover Central!

February is Kindness month! Some of our Circle of Friends members went to Dove Estates and participated in games and decorating Valentine's cookies with residents. They also presented residents with kindness-themed place mats students created in December.
